This open edition fine print by artist Daniel Duffy features The Philadelphia Eagles all time roster - all 1739 player names from 1933 through 2016. Duffy had taken inspiration for this image from the different team logos throughout the 1900s - he used an image of the eagle from the 80s-90s, but has it flying from left to right - a nod to the pre-1980 graphics. Furthermore, the green color he used is the shade of the original uniforms from 1933-60s.
This piece specifically ends with the name of Carson Wentz, the young quarterback that Philly fans believe can bring the elusive Super Bowl trophy to the City of Brotherly Love. Eagles fans - for better or for worse - are known to be very passionate about their team, often called the crown jewel of Philly sports. Duffy knew he had to deliver in a big way while creating this:
"As an Eagles Fan myself, I know how passionate people are about this team and I had to make sure I didn't mess this up at all - I double checked every name with Pro Football Reference, The Eagles Encyclopedia, and the Eagles website. Every player who made the roster is on here: the good, the bad, and the ugly! (I've already been asked about Frank Gore...he didn't get included). I enjoyed writing the players names I've only heard about from my grandfather and Ray Didinger...Van Buren, Van Brocklin and McDonald....as well as the recent greats...Jaworski, Dawkins, McNabb, etc. 60 hours later, here you have it - every single Eagles player through 2016!!!" - Artist Daniel Duffy
